Chelsea Williams
so question. how did you run the power for the amp without drilling into the fire wall? having issues with that.
bigmizzle99
so question. how did you run the power for the amp without drilling into the fire wall? having issues with that. I ran 2 runs of 1/0 under the car. I dropped the wire straight down behind the drivers wheel Its wrapped in loom and secured up under the car in a "channel". I used stainless hardware to secure. Its nice and tight, I check it occasionally. It gets routed up into the spare tire well. Camaro SS Build Altima build 2.0 Altima build 1.
Wood
that's exactly how I ran my wire! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
bigmizzle99
Yep...it seemed like the most obvious way to me. Through the firewall and through the car is always more difficult. I think I'll always go underneath. BTW...I'm working on a new sub box. Building for 2 subs instead of one and turn it around to fire into the cabin...too much trunk rattle and not enough in car bass. Gonna seal it off, altho maybe not the way you did. I have an idea! I'll leave you with a little peek... Kerfy goodness.... And a homemade oval port.... rockFord_Expedition
I seen at least one pic posted in the SOTM thread that isn't in here. Did you upgrade the speakers in the OEM locations? Show us how you did it, your work is too clean to not show off. This is a really nice build, I like it alot. YelloJello
I have my crescendo mezzo mids as well without tweeters for now, just waiting for a nice amp to power! Tell me how you like them.
bigmizzle99
So......I decided that a change was needed. I'm kinda tired of trunk rattle and I want more in car bass, so I'm building a new subwoofer for the Altima. I'm gonna turn the sub around and fire into the cabin and seal it off. The first sub is still in and playing while a toy around with a new one. Here is what I'm planning to build. I havent decided on finish yet. Its gonna be approx 3.2 cuft tuned to 38Hz.
