soundstream15 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 I have a friend that will not do the big 3 bc tom from Ohio gen said anything bigger then 4g on stock alt can blow it up. I find this bullshit. If this is true why and how and if not then why and how just so I can prove him wrong
Lbox88 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 I would put zero weight in anything Ohio Gen says. And to answer, no, it will not kill an alt. UBL | Build Log
Guest Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 lol ohio gen said that? freaking hilarious had my 15+ year old corolla alt with big 3 in 0 gauge. was fine. for years.
soundstream15 Posted May 6, 2014 Author Report Posted May 6, 2014 Well he is a Steve mick nut hugger and best friends so right there says a lot too lol
Ahmed Johnson Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 The only thing I ever saw that was bad about the big 3 was stacking to many ring terminals on any alt wasn't good, but it was part of a thread were the question was asked if he should run a wire straight from the alternator or the battery
Bump4life Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 stacking multiple lugs in an alt is not bad. I know the Mechman post you are talking about. You can put as many lugs as you want on. Only problem would be weight if its torqueing the output post too much. Big 3 hurting stock alt? lol idk how more wire is hurting alts. ChevyBoy95 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 There is nothing in the big 3 that can hurt a stock alt. IF the big 3 hurts a stock alt, so does OEM wiring. Ohio Gen is a tard. Lbox88 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 I would like OG Tom's reasoning by saying it would harm a stock alt. UBL | Build Log
