haha, I've actually never cleaned the metal before applying deadner. i know i know. i always mean to. but before i realize it I'm already slapping on deadner. then realize ohhhhh i didn't clean the metal first! but it always sticks and i couldn't pull it off even if i tried. (and I've tried!).

but.i hear that the dollar store lemon degreaser works really well and dissipates fast.

don't feel bad...i don't either. I mean i wipe off the dust and the residuals but i never chemically clean it (unless it's something real nasty that needs cleaning). Second Skin sticks so good that it is hard to pull off even a dirty panel as soon as it touches.

and that is why you stick with the good stuff and not try to cut a corner. Wipe the dust off and slap it on. No heat no alcohol treat just a nice solid thud from the panel when its done.
