bcbrassard
Do some research, find someone to help you design a new box with the spec for that driver and rebuild. Proper box makes all the difference in the world! You sir do not have that! live and learn. No biggy, we have all been there.

Krakin
Chuff Chuff city bitch Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. P4killer_
http://reaudio.com/box.php Use this. Itll give you a cut sheet etc. If nothing else allow you to view the model and see what a box should sort of look like. P4killer_
Yiur port looks to be approx 1inch x 3 inches. Giving you a port area of 3sqin. Your box looks like idk 2 cuft. 3in of port / 2 cuft of net airspace = 1.5in per cuft. A typical ported 12 box is 12-20 sqin of port per cuft. So your a good bit shy. Generally. So in terms of a ported box its kinda choking the sub off because its too small. Like a bottleneck. Its more like a sealed box with a large hole in it. Either way you look at it, its not ideal Setup: 2010 Hyundai Elantra Factory Unit via 4 chan NVX LOC Excessive Amperage "H/O" Alt Xs D3400/ Xs XP3000 Big 3. 2 Runs of +, 2 Runs of - DD M3b and 2 12" AQ HDC4s
MrLandedra
You'd be correct if this was a 12, haha. The port is 2" wide and 4in tall, 7" deep, box is 1.4ish cubes. By the way it's a 10. believe half of what you see and none of what you hear lol. 2003 Ford Taurus SEL JVC KD-R520 4 JL ZR-525CSI 5.25 Mids 4 JL ZR100-CT Highs 1 18" RE Sx Dual 4 ohm wired parallel to 2 ohms 1 Kicker CX1200.1 (Bass) 1 DD S4B (Mids) 2 Optima Yellow Tops 200a Alt. CleanSierra
8" of port area isn't sufficient. Double that maybe(closer to triple in reality). The way it currently sits, the port is acting as a hole in a sealed enclosure. It would undoubtedly sound better if you plugged it up and sealed it. P.S. I mean these statements constructively. I truly am trying to help. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
