So I guess back at it sooner than later. I attempted to find a new ride, but figured out that the cost of a loan is gouging, even with good credit....I could have gotten a lower payment with a more expensive vehicle, but I didn't want a 10-15k car with close to no extra cash to put away; (including fixing / general maintenance to the new car)...Not to mention financing for 6-7 years. Figured, the car I have is cheap to maintain, cheap to own, and I can put away cash. So I'll stick with it....Maybe build an engine for it if I get adventurous enough.

Did my taxes early, and decided to fix the the known "problems" the car has....

Everything in the box:

-Powerstop cross-drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads
-Mevotech upper control arms (zerk)
-Moog tie rod ends
-Centric master cylinder
-upstream and downstream O2s
-HG power steering fluid
-HG brake fluid
-cone air filter

The car has had brake problems before....every 12-15 months it warps front rotors like clockwork. Not a HUGE problem cuz they don't cost that much to replace, but something I wanted to try and fix. That's why I went with the drilled and slotted; as well as a full bleed and new fluid....hopefully that will fix the issue.

This also means that my audio build will live on.....and my door panels and bumper won't go to waste. I really would have regretted not finishing that bumper since it's somewhat of a personal accomplishment. I'll be glassing over the bumper lense area and shooting a hole saw through the bolt locations....that will be covered with hole grommets painted to match. Won't be as precise as making lense replicas like I originally planned, but should work just fine.

Unfortunately, it's too damn cold to do any glassing or filling just yet, but I can still do maintenance for the time being. Stay tuned, hopefully this will last a while.

So it was nice as hell out today. Probably one of the nicest days we've had in weeks.....It even almost hit 40!

Unfortunately I still haven't yet received my corded torque wrench from UPS; (Kobalt 6904.....340 ft/lbs max should be enough) So I opted to save the brakes and suspension stuff for next weekend.

But I did do my power steering flush....This is the color is should be.....right???

Now I'm really glad I did it. Should be getting the wrench monday or tuesday. Gonna have to start measuring for the box

Glad to see I'm not the only one crazy enough to restore cars! Blue, this was one of my dream cars. This body style lude is TITS!

Now, how I funded the GMC jimmy was by selling car audio on Ebay. Everytime I made $10, $17, $175 it went into the Jimmy.

The Camaro on the other hand....I have $2500 and she still needs a front suspension, front rims and tires and the fan relay fixed.

All out of pocket so far.

So far on Ebay, after paying myself back the investment, I made I think $210 profit to go towards the parts needed for the Camaro.
Do not build the Lude with money out of pocket, because it can get expensive very quickly. You will start to regret the $ lost.

The fact that this is a project car and not a daily, puts you in a perfect situation. Restoring a daily sux, and things never get finished.

One section at a time my friend. Since I have to wait for Ebay funds, I am doing the stereo right now, because it's already paid for.

Please do not get discouraged. It's alot trust me, but worth it in the end!

thank you for that.....the only thing is, it is in fact my daily. I wish I could get a beater but I feel like it would start having problems I would have to fix which would put me in a worse situation. So far, it has been a moderate success though....I managed to only spend my tax return on all the parts I wanted to/needed to replace. Still not much out of pocket yet. I understand what your saying, and appreciate it.
