IH8PunkRok
So the idea behind this build had the following requirements 1. Usability- having a wagon means space, having a system means no space. compromise 2. Still able to get decently loud. Making a good first impression 3. Fidelity. I sacrificed my staging for larger components specifically for this 4. Class. It has to look good and be tasty Equipment list 2005 Dodge Magnum RT JVC KD-AVX1 Zapco 650.6 Audison AX 1.1Hertz EV 130Silverflute W17Audison Sr1dk Tang Band W8 SBF XS D12002 Deka 9a31sShok 1/0 More pictures to come -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
IH8PunkRok
Now the first obstacle to tackle was my front stage the esk 130s are a 5.25" driver that I really love the sound of so I paired that with some Audison AX 1.1s and decided that would be my pillar. The Silverflutes would go in the door as usual -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
IH8PunkRok
The next problem was my bass. How can I get enough bass to satisfy my needs while still being as small as possible. I toyed around with sealed, bandpass, ported, all types of enclosures, weird shapes, and odd places so that I could retain my wagoness. Eventually I settled on the king of output. T-Line. I bought the 8 to try and keep it as small as possible. Also I made it extremely thin so that it could sit where my cargo shelf is in the car Credit goes to Matt Wilson for my box build And here is how it sits in the car. Originally I wanted to to be lower but my wheel arches got in the way so I had to make due -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
gckless
I like the build. Love the amps, A pillars look really good, and I like the T-line. No one is going to expect the output out of that "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. IH8PunkRok
I drove around for a while listening to it and I am quite pleased with the output and fidelity so I started making it pretty First step Wood You can see how my zapco is mounted. The Audison is mounted under the box I scored that flooring for $5 from a Peddlers Mall As soon as I got home I began the Mock-up You can see that the pieces are a bit too wide for the car. Instead of just cutting that last piece down I opted to split the difference between the first and last board. Symmetry is a good thing. Then I began the curving process Not perfect but it will do Then to cut out the sub hole. This was a ton of trial and error But it worked out well Next the port Boom I plan to get some aluminum strips to lay between some boards to break up the wood a bit. Also paint and cover the port so things cant fall in it. Trim the port and sub in maybe aluminum, maybe not. Still need to figure it out. Opinions? I will get to work on my pillars and dash soon as well. -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
S15_Silvia
Would definitely trim the sub and port in aluminum. Would look sick. I'm intrigued to see how this progresses- looking to do something of similar cleanliness and practicality in my car. 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. IH8PunkRok
I thought I was smart Had an old trash can which is made of material perfect for a port cover fits the hole nicely but wrong color Paint it Combine with speaker cloth and it looks good but it flaps like a fucking bird... boo -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
