But that gets swept under the rug and forgotten about. Proportionally what was it though? Not that I give a damn one way or another but i'm guessing there were many more Korean amps than the Brazilian ones right? Not sure, I know Thomas popped one. And Jon blew, or protected, 2 of his. And those were the big name guys that I know of, there were some guys here and there that also had amp issues that I saw when perusing facebook around Slam time. But don't remember exactly how many or who they were. Moral of the story, is that koreans are blowing too. Can't just forget about that. It seems the moral of the story is to use an amp for what it is designed to do. Korean amps are much less subjective to abuse beyond manufacturers ratings whereas the Brazilians amps have very low tolerance for operating outside of manufacturers specs. Maybe?? Raptorman Posted June 26, 2014 Report Share Posted June 26, 2014 The Tara's count on box rise. They ARE rated for 1 ohm, but you cannot beat on it daily at a true 1 ohm resistive load. Only nominal. The 1 ohm model will want to see I think 2 ohms or more, is what Shizzon said on Caco IIRC. But, I like how they don't care for box rise much. Tara 8k wired to 1 ohm, rising to 2 ohm, will put out probably 6500rms still, while being more efficient and a lower THD.Korean 8k wired to 1 ohm, rising to 2 ohm will probably put out about 4k-4.5k.Regardless, Tara has said they are working on an separate abusive model for the US guys. But thats what everyones been doing for a decade now so they kept doing it.
