  • 1 month later...

Cleaned up at a local comp.

What a blast showing it off at the state's biggest car show.

My score was 154.9dB on music averaged over 30 seconds with both front windows down. I do not test or rehearse my system, it was pretty much a song we were listening to the night before that we thought was cool. Last time the car seen the meter was the TRENDZ comp where it did 150.x I believe in the same conditions.

The comp on the weekend was motorvation, thank you to TRENDZ CAR AUDIO for assisting my entry, wouldn't be there without the guys. Kustom panel and paint shall receive thanks for repairing some minor panel damage and paintwork touch ups from the previous owner, a keen eye may have noticed them at previous events. This means the car was looking and sounding better than ever on the weekend.

Every event the car was entered it received first place. I am not a serious competitor but it is good to receive promising feedback.

Wasn't all happy days with the car though, I've been fighting with breaking sub screws over the past few months, some may say that I should just use bigger screws, not always the case, usually something underlying will cause it. As it turns out I've never really had a chance to park it up and let it crank and walk around the car, turns out the baffle is flexing like 10mm, no joke!

I was sure that something had come adrift, so after motorvation I pulled the subs out, but nothing wrong, must be just because there's so much wood removed (it's still five layers), so instead of having to rebuild the baffle I'll be making it a little stronger
