Taramps Amplifiers legit?

To be honest, you shouldn't have that bad of a drop with all your equipment. You might want to check a few things out before getting another amp.

I forgot to mention, I have a regulated alternator at 13.4-13.6 usually. I've seen it get up to 14 on occasion, but not for long. So, I'm already starting a volt down....

So, the only pictures I've seen of these amps, they only had one set of power and grounds. Is that ok? I assume it is since nobody has mentioned it...

I've got to run, so I will pick this up again in the morning. Sorry to run... Thanks for the info so far!

I believe it has 2/0 gauge power/grounds. Should be good with 1 run of 2/0

I've heard a lot of good things about them but similar to what I ran into w/ SD amps, they're pretty power hungry but do every bit of rated and some more.

Power hungry? Not sure if srs

Efficiency? ha these amps are running laps around that

Considering I can run a Taramps 3k on a stock 150a alt, with a 65ah agm under hood and 1/0 welding cable, I'd say power hungry is incorrect

not power hungry but they don't like low voltage.

well

this info helps a lot... Thanks. So they engineered them to operate under lower voltage and then to boost that voltage. This would probably work great in my application with another battery to protect from low voltage drops. Hmmm

But that takes enclosure into play. That might actually support the 30Hz filter to some eyes. I'm sure they have a free-air test somewhere, some sort of graph they've done, right?

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.

I'm not sure. I was able to do a 150.2 at 24hz. I hear no difference compared to any Korean amp.

This sounds/looks good. I've seen your setup on YouTube Sencheezy, and I must say it's quite impressive. This is actually where I saw the amp the first time and started to do some research on them. Everything looks to be legit, especially for those with regulated alt's that will never ever see 14.4-15 volts without mod's...
