sbg
I don't see the need to bolt the box down in this install. With the sub's in the box its 220+ pounds. And is sealed on the front so there is no way you can even pick it up. Just saying. sbg
The box don't jump, just has vibration. Pic of the setup. Amp is mounted on top of some foam and still gets a lot of the vibration. Just supports my previous post. But could you move the batteries to either side of the box and then mount the amp behind the box then? Kinda was thinking this^. Now that I know the deadener won't work Quote 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. Just saying. it will stop the box from vibrating in turn your amp wont vibrate (as much)... theres obviously enough energy there to cause the vibrations hence why you made this post...... 4bannger
Typical deadener will do nothing on a box. You wanna deaden it? Build it right. Brace it well. I'm undecided about rubber washers. The amp has to be tightened down very tight, and is therefore coupled to the box via the screw or bolt you mount it with, which basically negates benefits of rubber washers. And if it's loose enough for the rubber washers to do anything, then it's bouncing around so much that it's actually much worse. I know it sounds great, but I guess I'm just skeptical they're the saving grace everyone makes them out to be. i defiantly agree with you on this one. i have never seen the real benefit based on exactly why your saying. I guess i could see some benefit if there was a way to loosely attach them without have them so loose it would bounce But properly bracing the box will stop a lot of that in the first place
