The ol' DC power run-around

Recommended Posts

I'll never order another non dc power alt. No offense to singer. They just have a far superior product. His CS is untouchable where as DC is spotty, but I prefer to do things once and not ever see it again. When I do things twice I get pissed.

Same here. I like my alt to bolt right in like it should :good:

:ninja:

I was directed by Kyle to cut the housing and grind some of the heat fins off of my brand new 270XP in order for it to fit.

Nope. Reached out every few months for about a year and got either looking into it towards the end and should ship in a few weeks at least once. Still have the emails.

Uh, this is just me, & I am not trying to say I am made of money, ... but if it even approached 6 months for a rebuild on anything like that - without an acceptable explanation -, I am either buying the plane ticket, or the tanks of fuel, whichever is cheaper, & I am arriving on their door step ... That is fucking bull-motherfucking-horse-shit, & letting them know in person is the only way that would be acceptable to me ... they get one oppty. to fix the problem in person, then I'm going off.

LOL, okay. Then you get to meet the RSO, Riverside Sherriff's Organization. You will get beat down, then prosecuted to the fullest extent.

For the price, it better be pretty damn nice. DC appears to have more R&D put into their product, simply because they have the revenue to do so. The other alternator makers don't really give an inside look into what they do like DC. But if you never get the product, what is the point?

I think I'm going to bash my skull in with the alt if it won't bolt in.

DC is also the only company that doesn't use used parts. Btw..... Even singer uses used parts. Fresh solder and powder coat with working used parts does not a brand new alternator make.

Fine.

But tell me, ... what would you do after two years after a company has your, say, $500-700 ALT? Sit on your bum bum? Keep calling? Send e-Mails & hope to an imaginary being that you get answered?

... & if the beat down is "real", I will gladly take what would be coming my way afterwards ... that I could be patient for.

But back to the real question ...

I agree Sutliff, no one should wait near that long.

And as far as getting a beat down for giving a company an ass chewing that seems to be deserved. I say well great, that would make for a nice lawsuit.

Now I'm always for giving a company the benefit of doubt, but their becomes a point where it becomes in excusable.

^^^^^ How can you make that statement? You don't know that.

But I do. That's the thing. I'll be chiming out of this thread. After saying this. Singer does good work, and with his combo of CS and skills. He is the best alt guy in our industry IMO. But he does not use BNIB shipped to his door step parts and builds alternators from scratch. I've had his alternators taken apart by my alternator guru from east coast battery in south Florida. Everything from a top of the line 320 hairpin gmc from him to a small case re spun powder coated alt.

DC has a choke hold on all brand new highest quality internals, plus a CNC machine to fit the biggest possible alternator for your vehicle. Wait the extra time with DC and be done with it.

Nothing against singer, for what he has to work with he is the best out there and does an awesome job. But he doesn't have the parts supply or the CNC machining. Singers best alternator would have been my stock 90a alternator, re wound for "180a" realistically giving be between 160-180a and it would not be hairpin. But since dc custom makes the cases I was able to fit a large case hairpin alternator with about 1/4 clearance from my power steering pump that I've clamped with a $5,000 snap on load tester to do 247a hot.

Put singer CS and DC power quality into a single company and this wouldn't even be a discussion.
