philrab Posted August 15, 2014 Report Share Posted August 15, 2014 Did the post mortem on my ID8. I'll go out on a limb and say those marks were from coil rub. Other marks scattered around the coil. This, was probably the source of the noise I was hearing. The cone was cracked halfway around where it was attached to the top of the coil/former when I looked, ended up breaking the rest of the way with fairly little pressure. Anybody else has pics of dead/blown equipment?
