fluctuating voltage??

I can post a video if needed. The electrical set up on my truck 1994 Ford Explorer, 2/0 welding cable, Mechman 270 alt, Mechman AVBM, XS 6500 under the hood, XS 975 in the back, Flatline FL2, American Bass 350.4.

Just recinly the voltage have been going from 14.2-14.4 hot and highway speeds with all audio on. When I turned on the A/C I notice the voltage getting a little funky. and the compressor was making a little noise and getting me some belt slip so no more A/C.

But now even with the A/C off I been seeing the stock voltage needle bouncing around, check the avbm and voltage is going from 14.2 down the 13.5ish and back up. All at idle. When driving on the highway everything seems fine.

All connection look and feel tight, check alt ground, check rear battery ground, check connections at amp and everything looks and feels ok.

Any of you guys have any suggestions? I'll be uploading a quick video in a few.

avbm is probably crapping out or bad connection somewhere.

This is why I hate weird ways of boosting voltage. The AVBM, MLA, even diodes. They give you some funky issues when they start to break down

Unplug it and see if you still have the issue

Belt slippage (worn belt bad tensioner), crappy stock voltage gauge, cheap voltage meter, and of course what has already been mentioned.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

just a quick question. im thinking about buyin a Ho alternator (if i can find 1 for my car!) 1994 altima but if you have one and a secondary battery does ur voltage like not drop at all or something

whats a healthyish voltage drop for a stock alt 1 battery

Thanks for the replies. As of right now the first thing im trying is disconnecting the ac compressor in the theory that it might be pulling a load even when I have the switch off. I'll drive a few days and see if it still happens. If it does then I'll look into a better voltage gauge and try with avbm disconnected. I did send video to mechman to see if they have any suggestions
