1. Talk with the judges, they might let you di a sweep to find your peak. And give a spl comp for dummies briefing.

2. Charge your batteries overnight and check all wire connections, battery terminals.

3. Don't play it between testing or on the drive there to keep voltage up.

4. Weather can be a pain, bring a sweater food and drinks

5. A camera or phone with a camera to make vids for us.

Just have fun and dont focus too much on the numbers at your first event. What more important is what organization are you gonna compete in. In Meca you can pay 10 bucks and do a clinic where they do a sweep to find your peak freq. You will also need fusing within 18 inches of the amp if so. Go in and read the rules of whatever org it is

Go find a way to stabilize your rpms at maybe 2000 or whatever the max Usaci allows. This can be done with a 2x4 to the gas pedal and seat or by putting a quarter or something where your throttle linkage is.

This.

When you get so anal about scoring good, and it doesn't happen, you lose the fun aspect. Show up, drink some beers, play your system...but most importantly...

HAVE FUN! :D

Be positive there don't laugh when you see a car audio fail try to help that person out. Go early and see if there is a clinic. See if someone has a meter to see what frequency to burp at.
