Kyblack76 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 what i want to know, this is directed at cableguy and bbiefe, do amps have regulated power supplies on the pre-amp circuit. if not that seems like a serious design flaw to me. that cicuit is critical and if its not we dd-1 users have been doing it wrong this whole time. bear with me here. if they are unregulated, then when we set gains with car off then run the engine the pre-amp will be producing more voltage to the amp and would lead to clipping. if regulated then setting gain on the amp should be done with the car off and you should attempt to keep voltage above your resting voltage when playing. also, just because you drop below resting voltage does not mean you automagically start clipping, just means the amp is going to pull more amperage and run hotter. edit words are hard, see bold type for correction dork SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold

That's how jeffrey did mine... Since my car will play at 13.1 for a longgg time, it only makes sense to set it at 12.8/9 then 14.0 On 1/4/2013 at 9:31 PM, HatersGonnaHate said: Wow. 184 posts and I think you're a fucking asshole.

But I'm eager to see either of their responses so the answer can help me understand the question. Would be sweet if Tfade would chime in with some testing aswell. OrionStang Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Jesus chirst, you guys!!! You are repeating questions that have been asked since the damn thing came out. Plug the fucker in, set your fucking gain pot, and be done. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
TaylorFade Posted September 16, 2014 Report Posted September 16, 2014 I'm going to pick on the AB here since it's a good example. Unloaded... Loaded. Resistive. (same gain, same volume) Loaded. Reactive.
TaylorFade Posted September 16, 2014 Report Posted September 16, 2014 I'll also pick on the big daddy Incriminator 80.1. Note the voltage. Unloaded. Resistive clean Resistive clippy. Notice this is the same voltage as max clean unloaded, but loaded and it's clipped to shit.
