Joseph Chambers
Im wondering what you guys use the kick panels for - the mids or the bass? Im thinking the 6.5 Crescendo Mid-Range but I reach out to the community for that! gckless
Generally you want to put midbass in kicks. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. bcbrassard
I second that, if you have the room a 8" midbass driver with 5 1/4 midrange dirver and 1" tweeter would sound killer. Passive or active. would make a for a great front stage. If you have a small car with little room in the kick panel area then a dedicated 6.5 midbass driver with 4" midrange and 1" tweeter would be second choice. If your able to keep the mids and highs in the A-pillar or high on the doors it helps raise your sound stage up to listening position. I wish I had this knowledge when I built my system but on the next one it will be done like this.
Joseph Chambers
So i have a truck.. I'm not a bass head but I like good sound. So I am looking at this amp: Crescendo Audio S800.4 to power 4 FT1 Tweeter tweeters from Crescendo Audio and x4 6.5 Crescendo Mid-Range drives. One for each door. Then the Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 for the kicks.. powered by the s550.2. White Lightning
4 FT1 tweeters ?? Really ?? ... and you do know that a 6.5" driver is not considered to a mid range driver. You will have cancellation with that setup ... just saying Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co Questions About Sound Quality ?? Try Here ... Joseph Chambers
Hey Cableguy184, 4 FT1 tweeters ?? Really ??... and you do know that a 6.5" driver is not considered to a mid range driver. You will have cancellation with that setup ...just saying I figured one tweeter per 6.5 - what would you suggest for a 6.5" driver? What does it mean to have cancellation? bcbrassard
1 set of tweeters should be enough but it sounds like from your equipment list your going for loudness and not SQ. I like the RF midbass driver option but others out that would work well also. I am just throwing out my limited knowledge, listen to Cableguy. He's knows his SQ and basically whats going to sound best. Especially in a truck.

Joseph Chambers
Sure it's a 1998 dodge Dakota club cab. I want sound quality. bcbrassard
Have you bought any equipment yet? Whats your budget? Whats your goals in your build. What size speakers are in your doors? Lots of planning and research so you don't have to redo system to many times. LOL I am on my 4th rebuild and still learning how to get the best sound and get it right. I suppose a another year or so and I will be ready for the Malibu's SQ system. Current ride is loud and clear but no SQ winner. lol
