buying used can get you alot for ur cash but it can also get you ripped off and leave u with more problems then u started, about 13 years ago I had a lesson in this when i purchased used mmats d300hc amplifier on ebay. hookd it up n poundednatbitch a while next thing i know i have clouds of smoke coming out my ports and cooked woofers, turns out the amp had issues and wasnt even fixable, ended up making a deal with the amp repair company for a mmats d200hc they had that worked.

be vigilant, always be wary of somone who wants to trade you stuff.

anyways for 2k fetty years ago i was doing 140 db all day long (sealed dbdrag style bassrace score) with:

a couple 2000 watt amps( paid around 400 a piece)

on a used dd 9515 (paid 325 picked up locally)

in a big ported box (paid around 100 for box)

with a 200 dollar kenwood excelon used head unit

all stock electrical and a g31 optima in the back (paid 100 bucks used)

cost me bout 100 bucks for all the wiring and big 3 and such

forgot the highs

30 dollar pioneer 6 1/2s and 50 dollar ma audio 5x7s off head unit

equipment i used for 2 years without issues until i sold it all and got out of the car audio scene

its funny how guys just so chapped on here. If you got 2 grand to work with thats cool. you dont need to spend a massive amount of money to be a basshead, there is no elite group for those who spend 20,000 or more on gear guys.

But to the original question:

FI btl with the ufo motor, might be able to pick one up for 3-400 bucks.

a Soundqubed 3500. 800 bucks

MB Quart ao800.4 100 bucks

four morel tiw 634ft midbass speakers 139.80 each

matching tweeters 250 bucks

that would give a decent sound. maybe instead of the btl some sundown sa's

Did you consider the electrical to back these items?

WELL SHIT.

sheet of birch plywood, 60$ [40$ if you get "shop wood"]

2 sundown SA-12 400$

2 MB Quart oa1000.1 200$

[2] rockford 6.5's [r165x3] 80$

MB Quart oa800.4 100$

some ofc 1/0 gauge wire, depending on the vehicle but lets say for a 2002 chevy impala. so 18 feet for the main power, 5 feet for big three, 10 feet for ground and on big three

132 for wire, + 10 for anl fuse holder and +10 for fuses and 2 extra. so 152$

12 gauge speaker wire all around and for subs 100$

pioneer head unit 200$

mechman 240 amp alt 400$

[3] 20 foot rca cords 60$

new Psyph Morrison album 10$

so for those who dont want to add that all up, its 1762$ I dont think i forgot anything, but if so just tack it on with a quote.

Save the $ on the rf speakers forget about the rear and do a better speaker up front. Can be had for less then $300 still keeping you under 2k.

Honestly though, think about it.

Get a nice comp set for 600-700 a 2ch used for under 200. Either 200rms or 400rms could work pending speakers and final impedance.

That's under $1000

Add in a good 4guage wire for front to back $60-80 with RCA for the 2ch

Puts you just about at 1k on the dot.

Put another 200-250 in a goid agm batt, and 40-60 for the big 3.

Your at 1300roughly

500rms amp for under 200used can be found

1 Sa 12 another 200 plus RCA wires and a distro block 1 4g in 2 4guage out that adds another 40-50.

1750 roughly

All you have left is a box (material 60-80) and speaker wire (20-30). Gives you a little over $100 for anything I forgot... Like a cd player..
