Masterbasser
what about fusing the amp then? same thing? fuse for wire? think biggest anl fuses are 300 Kenwood excelon ddx795 3 370 amp CES alternators (audio side only) McLaren dome tweeters Crescendo 6.5 ultra neos NVX JAD800.4 4 PA x4 SPL 18's 4 Digital Designs m5's at .7 ohms each 2 K2 80 ah lithiums 3 group 31 agms Ledglow million color (12 piece) 2007 Yukon xl
alaskanzx5
They make 500amp anl Fusing for the amp Use a wire with a higher fuse rating or equal fuse rating as the manufacturer rates the amp at. Then fuse it at the amps fuses rating. Example A t1500.1bdcp has a fuse rating of 200amps. So I would use a wire that is rated at 200+ amps then put a 200amp fuse on it. In my case with the 1500.1 ill be running ofc 0guage into it with a 0gauge to 4 gauge reducer. The wire is rated at 300amps. I'm still going to use a 200amp fuse to protect the amp though. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. alaskanzx5
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/rffa500 I'm sure other companies make fuses that go up to 500amps. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. Masterbasser
dual input amp has 2 positive inputs so my question was which fuses to use on both wires if amp total draw is 500. once again electricity follow path of least resistance so 1 wire could be drawin more amps then the other (possibly) Kenwood excelon ddx795 3 370 amp CES alternators (audio side only) McLaren dome tweeters Crescendo 6.5 ultra neos NVX JAD800.4 4 PA x4 SPL 18's 4 Digital Designs m5's at .7 ohms each 2 K2 80 ah lithiums 3 group 31 agms Ledglow million color (12 piece) 2007 Yukon xl
Broke_Audio_Addict
No reason to fuse higher than your alts output and on your runs to the amp fuse for your current demand. The smaller the fuse the better. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. audiofanaticz
No reason to fuse higher than your alts runs and on your runs to the amp fuse for your current demand. The smaller the fuse the better. Even safer is fusing no higher than the current that runs thru the wires. I dropped down to 150amps per charge lead, may drop down to 100 yet. CJ18
Yeah we have a solution to this without using a battery terminal. http://www.droppinhzcaraudio.com/toolmaker-quad-1-0-ring-terminal/ Also have Ceramic Fuses from 50-500A that are much better under the hood, as they resist heat MUCH better than cheap plastic cased fuses. http://www.droppinhzcaraudio.com/ceramic-anl-fuse/
