ChevyBoy95
So, some of yall know my port right now is center fired, so everything is symmetrical, left to right. Well, I want to knock out the baffles, and go with a drivers side port. Same exact port area and close to the same tuning, but a bit smaller on volume.... Current : 15.5-15.8 Cubes, 36-37hz, 234.5 sqin of port Idea : 14.5 cubes, 34/35 hz, 234.5 sqin of port driver side. Any input from the guys who know or have built and tried there own? I have always heard drivers side port is the way to go. mrazandrewm
I've heard (and read) that you should have your port facing the side of the vehicle. It causes the sound waves to load off of something. This is an easy test to find out if you have a ported enclosure at home. Face it away from the wall (towards you) and play some music. Then rotate the enclosure so it loads off the wall (away from you). It should play louder. rocking.that.eclipse
From my understanding its center is more demo orientated and driver is more numbers. Now that isn't saying the driver side doesn't demo well and sometimes center doesnt meter well, but general consensus is drivers will gain on meter
