neglect isn't the proper word to use if the camera isn't mandated to wear.

There isn't enough info in what was cited to make that statement. With the info presented, the officer CHOSE not to wear it, which is a bad idea if he had it issued. And if it was a mandated piece of equipment he should be disciplined accordingly. But him not wearing it doesn't make the other guy innocent.

Not to mention if it happened outside of a gas station, im sure there are cameras all over the lot.

I dont know about anyone else, but when I go out shooting at a range or a friends property I practice drawing my concealed weapon and firing it to become as quick and efficient as I can.

Even when I get to shoot at a friends salvage yard I practice drawing from a seating position.

A cop is not the person to point a weapon of any kind at unless your asking for consequences or are wanting suicide by officer which almost just happened a block down my road when a ill man shot a shotgun outside his moms house proceeded home where he was barricaded in for 8hours telling the officers that he has slugs and if they move in he will shot through the window. His next threat was to start running out of the house firing at officers. The guy finally offed himself thankfully, but it could of gotten even worse.

I have been pulled over already by the police a few times, and a couple of the times Ive sat in my car with an officer drawn on me after he noticed my ccw permit that was giving to him with my dl, it was in the lowered position but all it would have taken is one sudden move im sure. So you better be damn straight i kept my hands on the steering wheel until back up arrived.

Ive also been pulled over after that with not as bad as a issue and I even told the officer he could disarm me for the portion of the traffic stop to make him feel at ease. This is something I don't have to do legally along with informing them that I am carrying a concealed firearm, but to let the tension settle and to show the officer im not there to do harm or foul to him was well worth it, and after that the officer has been very cool to me even when i see him at a gas station.

im not arguing that this guy was justified or any of that. i agree that if you point a gun at anyone who carries a firearm that they have a right to shoot you. im just saying that people keep stating in all the incidents that have happened that it would be better for police to wear cameras not only to protect themselves but also to protect others when situations like this occur. im just saying that maybe it should be mandatory for an officer to wear a body cam so that any situation that occurs can be assessed from the officers point of view instead of a camera 10 to 20 feet away. the body cam would be beneficial to everyone unless you were the one committing the crime or the officer that was abusing his power or using excessive force. if i myself were an officer i would wear a body cam every shift just so i would have a video record to clear myself of any accusations.
