lost 2db. why?

Recommended Posts

I always heard of people upgrading their amps but only gaining a few tenths. Well I had a AQ 3500 v2 and got a audio systems 3k. Same exact thing as sundown saz 3k. Power wise, there's not much of a difference. I was dropping to 12.1v with the AQ and this amp I hardly see 12.9v

By ear, it sounds the same. I can't seem to tell a difference....well, I metered today.

With the AQ amp I did a 149.7 in the kick

New amp I did 147.2 in the kick...how da fuck did I loose so much? Does my peak change? Or did I just loose out all together?

Numbers don't matter to me so much but I feel heart broken after testing

could be crossed over to low.

plus if you test with subsonic filter off you can gain some.

the aq is probably adjusted a bit better than your sundown. Just keep tinkering with it.

Double check your amp filters as already mentioned, its really easy to twist it all the way the wrong way, ask me how I know lol.

Otherwise, its always good to do a power clamp before swapping amps. Even if you can just see how much clean voltage the amp is able to supply it can give you an idea of how much power you are actually seeing.

the hell is a audiosystems 3k, never even heard of them. aq is a good brand and audio system is most likely garbage if it doesnt even return a search result.
