Nightshade Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Keep up the good work man. I like the approach that you're taking to seal it off. Just make sure you do get it completely sealed off though. Also go with those SA12's man. They should easily walk on the DC Level 2's and the nice thing is that if you upgrade the SA's to another Sundown woofer you can use the same box size where as the DC Level 2's require a 1.25 cube per sub enclosure and the rest of the DC woofers say at least 1.5 cubes per sub. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz
knowledge Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 thats some great detail man REFF'SMy linkEBAYhttp://feedback.ebay...ck&myworld=trueI love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.
PURE~PRESSURE Posted July 4, 2015 Author Report Posted July 4, 2015 Appreciate the feed back...I am getting more happy with the build. Its came along way. But on another note I painted the dash pods today. Just sanded a lil and went straight to primer and satin black as in the future I will be putting vinyl on them any way. The speakers for the pods are on their way from sonic electronix and I cant wait til they touch down. BTW PHOTOBUCKET HAS BEEN GOING SUPER SLOW andbody else have this problem? And just recently added the blue.
Karkov Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 Photo bucket going fine for me. Nice progress, like the blue. You got speakers in the front AND rear doors and now on the dash, bet it will sound nice. edit: I meant that in a good way, that's lots of speakers in lots of areas, that's what I like, lol 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. PURE~PRESSURE Posted July 4, 2015 Author Report Posted July 4, 2015 I know lol I always wanted dash pods....I gotta find a real good 8" mid bass speaker 50-400 hertz
PURE~PRESSURE Posted July 5, 2015 Author Report Posted July 5, 2015 Did a little more painting...im really liking the blue. Also I did forget to mention that iv'e already picked up 2 of the American Bass sealed backs. They play very very loud. The sensitivity on these are 103.5 DB!! I will be playing them most likely between 400-5or6KHZ with 18 db roll offs on both ends. I would recommend them to people who only are using a 4WAY application. Due to the fact that you do not want these playing mid bass of course. MONEY SHOT
reedal Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 Looks good man. I like those dash pods. PURE~PRESSURE Posted July 6, 2015 Author Report Posted July 6, 2015 Iv'e been doing some research on cheap Mid bass drivers from Parts Express And the two that caught my eyes where the following (-DAYTON AUDIO SD215A-88 8" SUB (29$) (-GRS 8SW-4 8" SUB (15$) I then used winisd (I KNOW I KNOW NOT THAT ACCURATE JUST WANTED AN IDEA) to plug in the parameters of the subs to see which would preform better in a sealed.5 ft3 enclosure. To my surprise the GRS had and excellent mid bass response that Iv'e been looking for. 63-400Hz.Take a look
PURE~PRESSURE Posted July 7, 2015 Author Report Posted July 7, 2015 Got my dash pod speakers in today. The power acoustik 4"mid and tweeter sound pretty good together. Loud as hell!! I will take better pics tomorrow .
