Silverado297 Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 Ok I'm getting a dc 300 spx on a dual alt bracket for my truck. It's going to be internal regulated on it's own charge. ( 14.8 ) . It's specs are 300 max, 250 hot max , 225 idle and 195 hot idle. I'm wondering how much battery it can support ?? Right now I have 3 SPP2150s(105ah) . Wanting to add more batteries but how much more can I ?
DavidClark Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 You can add as many as you want, just make sure you put them on a charger every so often. Broke_Audio_Addict Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 The bigger question is what amps are you trying to power? You may not even need more batts. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Silverado297 Posted February 6, 2015 Author Report Posted February 6, 2015 Right now I'm getting a huge voltage drop when I go full tilt down to 12v. That is on the 165 stock alt. I can get a really good deal on some batteries right now that is why I'm wondering. I have not installed the 300a alt yet... but I figure I should have around 700ah for my amp??

If your dropping to the 12s on a stock alt, that dc would make a hell of a difference. Like what been said you can add as many batts as you want but your alt may not charge all of then fully, so you'll need to charge them with an external charger every so often. It's like rubbing your wiener up against a sheep.
