Krakin
Are those frequencies? ?Then the same rule applies. Don't boost until you learn the science behind acoustics and electricity. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. d-nice88
The 50 hrtz is but isnt the sUb level some kind of bass boost or am I mistaken. I dont use the bass boost on the amp so should I have the sub level all the way up ?
Deeznutz
This isn't how to set an EQ. It's more how to set a parametric eq. This is still useful because of the 7 frequencies you have to play with, you can tune by ear, if you know how. You have the following. 50 125 315 750 2.2K 6K 16K Listen as how he talks about the range in question. He explains what presence (female voice/male voice, cymbals, bass) is in this particular range. So you can tune to high light that particular sound or depress it. I have the Pioneer 960MP. I love the way Pearl Jam Live sounds, but hate the way Silverstein records their music. No matter how I tune Silverstein, their cymbals are drown by the riff of the guitar. So pick a song with a "good dynamic range". HotDog posted up a site that gives songs a dynamic range number. I would use that as a starting point when tuning. Just do not tune each knob into the + range. It's ok to have few less than the adjacent knob. Sort-of like what he is explaining in the video. It's about balance and what you are trying to emphasize in your car, and how you hear it- most of all. -Frank

Krakin
Flat doesn't sound nice. It is just a starting place for getting a correct curve. Broke_Audio_Addict
Did this thing not have a manual or what? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
