The system is running off of (2) 12 volt 100 amp power supplies using 3 gel cells to substain power, the system as it sits never drops below 13 volts, so I don't think the amp is clipping from low voltage. We have decided that we are sending the 15 s back to Audio Pipe, and have purchased 4 New sundown audio subs, are going to try the same scenario, if the Sundown subs start getting hot, we are pulling the amp and sending it back for a refund as the subs we have purchased should be perfectly matched to the current APCL 3000.

Rockford's quality control would prevent that from happening.

So you believe that Rockford has never let one thing go from their factory that maybe slipped by quality control? Perfect world he lives in I guess. I was more refering to the issue that it's different strokes for different folks. Some companies make decent products when it comes to some things, other things they suck at. When I bought my TS-PC series subs made by Audio Pipe 7 years ago, I was looking for cheap subs to fill a cabinet. I have driven them hard for 7 years, and they have withstood some punishment, I was impressed with the subs, which prompted me to buy all of their mids and highs for my center channel, and front left and right channels. Love the tweeter, and mid ranges that Audio Pipe makes. I have a friend that has (4) TXX-BD-12s in a suburban which I thought had decent bass response. So if one person likes a certain brand then so be it, after speaking with Audio Pipe again today, they said that the subs power rating was more of a "burp" scenario, and are not designed to be driven at that wattage. My response to this was that they should at least inform a potential consumer of such things before they buy. So after being impressed with the stuff from Audio Pipe that I already had, yes I thought to give their subs a shot, however now, it's at the point that I am installing subs that are designed to do exactly as I want.

You said the subs you bought were 900 dollar, you could easily buy quality gear for that amount of money.

For budget builds I buy second hand quality equipment. And obviously don't expect to buy 12 12's and 25kw worth of amps for a buck fiddy.

I must edit that post I spent a little over 500.00 on the (4) 15's that I had, and I have never had much luck buying second hand car audio in the 15 or so years I have been messing with it.

Offcourse they have, but they solve their problems properly. (there was a thread recently but I can't find it anymore, his RF amp made some noise, send it back and got a new one.)

Even that, 500 dollar for subs isn't budget in my opinion. It's quite strange that you say 900 dollar at first buy then "correct" yourself.

Using car audio equipment in a home isn't smart.

And since you have 2 100 amp power supplies, which cost at least 200 dollars each and 3 batteries.. I don't see this as a budget build, since the total cost is over 1k $...

But having that said, I think the problem lies in your receiver.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Everything is a budget builds it's just some people's budgets are a lot bigger than others.

Buying cheap gear with a bad rep is like banging a hooker with no condom, you take the chance and sometimes (most of the time) you pay the price.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

The best advice to be given is to buy a proper home amp to power those with instead complicating things.

Leave the car audio to the car and home audio in the home.

Yes i have done the car audio on subs for a home theater for a short time but the overall look was horrible and unsightly.

I would try that amp on one more sub you are okay with blowing before trying it on your new subs.

The amp does seem to be the common denominator in subs blowing.

So much money wasted :-(

I thought we were the only ones to buy Audiopipe equipments, in my island !

You should use an home theater amplifier for your system. They can be cheaper than those car audio amps you have. Don't be afraid to find one or two.

I'd rather use less equipments, but with better quality. If my budget is too small, I try to save more money, or I buy used.

Even in Martinique I could find a DD9515 sub, in very good shape, for less than $300. Imagine what you could find in the USA.

I hope you'l be able to get your money or your equipments back. You could sell everything, and start again.

Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats.

2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

Audiopipe basically said I could send them back, in which we have, when we sent them back I canned all the Audio Pipe subs including the TS series I was running in the front channels, I am now running 6 "E" series Sundown Audio 15s, the subs pound, am very happy with them, and not had any issues whatsoever with this amp and those sundown subs. I am going to make a video to show the setup and some of it in action.
