When I push on my sub it makes a grinding-ish feel/noise?

Alright, so let's say I put gain at about 1/4.

I also have a bass knob, how should that be utilized?

Onto my HU (Kenwood DDX272) in your opinions, what should my audio settings be for Equalizer and the Subwoofer Level (It goes to +10) ? I know loudness and bass boost is a big no no.

And X'over, I have that set for 100 hz at mids and highs since stock speakers. And my sub is set to through for bass, and as I just learned, my amp will actually limit the subwoofer from playing to high.

throw away the bass knob? whuuuuuu- wait... full bass all the time? ok lol

And by low pass, you mean on my Headunit for the woofer right? What about the "Subwoofer Level" adjuster? It goes from -10 all the way up to +10.

All the bass knob is doing is controlling the bass boost on the amp. A bass knob connected via "phone cable" is just a bass boost.

If you really want to control your amplifier with a knob consider the PAC-LC1 and install it inline with your RCAs. This just controls the signal from your headunit to the amp.

Wow, I never knew that. Jesus I make one thread and learn at least 3 new things, pretty cool.

every bass knob i have seen does NOT control boost. it takes where the gain is set(thats all the way up/max) and lets you adjust the gain until that point. even my hifonics that says bass remote does not control bass boost. if you have your amp set correctly then when you turn the knob all the way down the subs should be almost un-noticeable. if you turn it all the way up thats where your gain it set.

one way to know if you have a gain control knob is to plug in the knob. turn it all the way up. then unplug it. if it sounds exactly the same its a gain knob. if it were a bass boost knob then when you unplug it the bass boost would go away.
