Hellabent Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 About to install 4 X12s D4s with a NS1 powering them. I see a lot of talk of the NS1 being able to handle .5 ohm load. Anyone see this on a daily driver? Just don't think 2 ohm load is gonna be enough to for the Xs. Not trying to see my baby go up in smoke. Anyone else run a ns1 at .5 ohms? Quote
03silvergt Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 It will handle .5 all day as long as you can supply enough electrical. Smoove Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Correct 16v electrical and it wont need to wired to .5ohm Quote 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
Hellabent Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 I've got 250 amp alt, 6 600watt shuriken batteries, and 2 under the hood. Quote
DrewJones Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I'd have at LEAST 2-3 Group 31 batteries to power that at .5ohm. Hellabent Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 So with what I have now it's just more safe to go 2 ohms until I can get a few more batteries. Quote
DrewJones Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I'd say yes, stay 2ohm until you get more battery/alternator. hispls Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Implying that more batteries makes .5 ohm less strenuous on semiconductors. Really I always say if you need to come on here and ask, you have no business running any equipment outside of manufacturer specifications, and if you can't afford to break that amp you definitely shouldn't think about it. Hellabent Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 gotta learn at some point. Never seen one clamped so figured I'd ask... I'll def grab a few more batteries though. Will see how it works out. Quote
DrewJones Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Yea, no need for that guy to be a dick. Everyone learns at some point. I could probably shit on him knowledge wise but you don't see me bashing him. Keep up the work man, keep the equipment safe, volume up, and if you get any questions. Feel free to ask.
