Lakeshow94
Probably picking up a 99 lexus gs300 soon. The back seats do not fold down, and there are no rear deck speakers (just a factory 10" sub). Does anyone have experience porting through a location like that rear deck hole? Would just removing that factory sub alone increase the sound in the cabin? Currently in my camry if im showing friends/customers my system I pull down the back seats to increase the sound in the cabin. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.
SIDE SHOW
I had a 15" sub in a twin ported box in my Vt Commodore that faced the front of the car (could see it when folded down the centre rear seat), removed the 2x speakers on the rear parcel shelf and positioned the ports to fire into/ through those holes. seems to work pretty well. crispy_chick3n
when you port through the rear deck it is usually done as part of the prot for the box, just calculated as external port. ive herd of some of these systems getting down, but iirc you have to be super anal about sealing everything off. i dont know for sure having never built one, ive just seen a few built on here. Massivespl
Lots of people port thur rear deck. I'd just use an external areo port up thur that rear woofer hole in the rear deck.
