So just like the title says when the cabin is sealed the subs unload, even if only one window is down they unload. Both windows have to be down for the subs to play well. When sealed if its a solid bass tone the subs play fine for like 2 seconds then when there's too much pressure they unload. Im aware I dont have enough port (triticum warned me of this) but this is the best I can do with size restraints. So my theory is its acting like a leaky sealed box and when the windows are up the air cant escape and builds up way too much pressure causing the subs to freak out. Any thoughts on this?

I also have issues when my cabin is sealed up - the sub begins to move more on some notes. And, of course, it's much quieter.

No I definitely mean unload. Of course its way more quiet but the subs bottom out/reach mechanical limit/unload/sounds like they're coming apart.

Car acoustics can do funky stuff Here is one possible explanation, when you get port compression your excursion goes up. With everything sealed up your port could be compressing badly and that could be causing what you are experiencing. When you roll the windows down or move the sub it might be changing the tuning (lowering it I suspect) enough that you don't get as much compression.

You could check your tuning by looking at what frequency the cone moves the least. Try it at a moderate sound level with the windows up and windows down and see if there is a difference.

I think port is way too big for a box that size, I have a theory about the woofer control with the windows down, with the windows down its acting a like a 6th order series, basically one ported rear chamber firing into a front ported enclosure, with the windows up it behaves like a small box with too much port area.
