RageQuitForLife Posted February 4, 2016 Report Share Posted February 4, 2016 So a month or so back i posted about a loud buzzing that came through my speakers. I have figured out that it is coming from some wire behind my headunit but cant figure out which one it is or how to fix it. I would pull the headunit out with the car running and after pulling it out of the slot the buzz would go away and depending on where I moved it the buzzing would be more or less. It seems that one of the wires is getting interference from some piece of metal behind the headunit slot, but I don't know which wire or which piece of metal is causing it. Should I just try to rap all the wires behind the headunit in something to try and stop it? Does anyone have any insight on what I need to do to get the buzzing to go away forever? SLYentist Posted February 4, 2016 Report Share Posted February 4, 2016 first, check that all connections on the head unit are clean and secure. it sounds like you have a loose connection Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do. ShadeTreeMechanic Posted February 4, 2016 Report Share Posted February 4, 2016 Check the RCAs and make sure that the shield connector on the head unit is connected to the chassis of the radio with a meter. Skullz Posted February 5, 2016 Report Share Posted February 5, 2016 Sounds like one of your connectors has a some wire sticking out of it contacting the chassis of the h/u when it is installed causing the issue.
