blazingbasshead Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Manual says these Crescendo Audio Forte Series 12's with Dual 4Ω Coils are conservatively rated at 1000 RMS, anybody know the actual RMS handling of these subs? Could I give one 2000 RMS?
Triticum Agricolam Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Do you mean use a 2000 watt amp or give it a real 2000 watts? There is a big difference. Joe X Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 HDC3 will take 2000W Dynamic RMS easy, not so sure about that 2.5" coil sub.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 What benefit do you think you would get by feeding it double rated? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
blazingbasshead Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Posted February 22, 2016 I just want to know the actual RMS rating of these subs since Crescendo says they underrate them at 1000 RMS, my Soundstream T1.4000DL is arriving tomorrow and for now since I have one sub, im gonna wire it to 2Ω, which will give it 1300 RMS from the amp, but when I get another sub im gonna wire em down to a 1Ω load which will make the amp put out 2000 RMS giving each sub the reccommended 1000 RMS, but since I have just one sub for now is 1300 RMS ok? Has anyone tested these subs? Im not gonna be doing little burps, I gotta nice bass playlist ready to go for some good excursion.
MrSkippyJ Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 1000 is the actual RMS. F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
Triticum Agricolam Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 No one is going to be able to give you a direct answer, thermal power handing is a complex thing and is VERY situation dependent. blazingbasshead Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Posted February 22, 2016 Guess I'll try it, and if it smells then no more.
blazingbasshead Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Posted February 22, 2016 Is breaking in a sub necessary? If so how long?
ShadeTreeMechanic Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 Just go for it. After a week it will be louder. Let your nose be your guide. Turn it down when you smell them but keep them playing so they get cooling air. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
