corrosion on CCA speaker wire !!??

Even OFC will do this. Marine wire is tinned to prevent this. This is also why adhesive lined heat shrink should be used on terminals under hood and under car. Maybe you could contact the seller and let them know that this is unacceptable and give them the opportunity to make it right.

I have copper wires that are at least a decade old with no signs of any corrosion, all metals will oxidize yes but this is not what that is.

By the way oxidation on real copper is conductive and doesn't harm the wire in any way.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Yes i will bring it up to the ebay seller. Its not their fault, it was factory heat shrink wraped on a spool. If they feel we cant reach a resolution its what ever, im not get bent out of shape for $13 even tho i hate wasting money. I was gonna buy some SHCA or knukonceptz wire but decided against those. Atlease im getting some learning experience from this. This is one of the reasons i dont like buying online.

They're talking about water intrusion, which is a different problem all together, and something that needs to be looked into further as they have water pooling there for long periods of time. Now i have had a plug on my motorcycle that got corrosion so bad i had to cut the plug and splices the wires together with some sealing shrink tubing.

Oxidation is oxidation and no matter what caused it, when it develops between the conductor and the connection you will have trouble. When the conductor is oxidized, it will find its way to the connection.

It shouldn't exist on brand new wire at all.

The problem with oxidation is it shrinks the surface area of the wire and the worse it gets the less conductivity it will have even if the terminations are in perfect condition.
