"Car audio" rings

Im adding a second battery in my truck tool box, dont know if there is any pros for using copper battery lug rings over "car audio" rings other than to copper battery lugs are much thicker than the "car audio" rings.... I know alot of people use both styles, care to educate me ?

One's used in industrial applications and UL listed, the other isn't. Lugs are the real deal, those ring terminals are just cheap garbage. They do the job, sure, but when the good stuff doesn't cost much more, just get the good stuff.

Don't trust a shop but you personally just smoked two decks, makes sense.

Plus those particular battery lugs are closed end which if heat shrink is properly applied, will protect better against corrosion

I like the "garbage" ring terminals, I mean I only did a 158.9 with garbage ring terminals and junk CCA wire.

I like the lugs because it's easier to put together, I don't have any type of press so I cannot really use the other ones to well. The lugs, heat it the fuck up, fill with solder, and bam your done.

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

You'd have more power to throw at your woofers if you weren't going through thin, high resistance tinned ring terminals and high resistance power wire. My point still stands. You can be totally content with the cheap stuff, that doesn't mean it's just as good though. Buy nice, or buy twice.

Don't mean to offend, i'm using CCA wire, i just acknowledge i'd have more voltage going to my amp with OFC, meaning more voltage across the rail, and more power.
