Just checking lmfao, but yes, with all that wire, resistance should be no worry at all. Jessica
try clamping at the wire going to the amp, see what you get there. Get an idea of what the amp is pulling. Also, is your clamp capable of doing proper DC clamping? Some cheaper ones dont do so well. on a side note, the 240 S series does about 140a idle and 225 ish hot. At least mine was rated at that. So if you are getting belt slip on a year old belt 160 might be about right. just spit balling here Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. audiofanaticz
With all that battery reserve you will not get a realistic clamp reading. Your batteries are acting as a buffer to the drain on the electrical system, so you wont be anywhere near in the ball park of the alternators claimed power. That is unless you deplete your battery reserve by drawing more power than the batteries can support, or disconnect a couple batteries so that only one is being used. ShadeTreeMechanic
What's the voltage at the alt when clamped? Might have a bad diode in the rectifier. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
