Shawn Rockwell
Is it OK to put a dual one ohm crescendo contralto 18 and a dual 4 ohm of same speaker in one box? Amp will be a cresendo bc2000d and two of them strapped when I can get it. Reason for doing is i have one dual 1 ohm and cannot find another one only the dual 4 ohm are available
Broke_Audio_Addict
Not a good idea. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Wasteland_Audio
No, no, and no. They will destroy each other because no matter what you do they will be seeing different amounts of power at any given time. I know this from experience. ShadeTreeMechanic
In parallel the 1ohm will get most of the power and in the same box the 4 ohm won't be able to provide enough back pressure for the 1 ohm. This will cause the 1 ohm to unload and try to make the 4 ohm act like a passive radiator. Just get two 4 ohms. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
ShadeTreeMechanic
Back in the day I ran an 8 ohm and a 4 ohm. When the 4 ohm finally blew, it became the passive radiator. Jessica
i think if you wired each to 2ohm and then ran separate amps and gain matched you might be alright. The t/s parameter's will be different on the two sub's.
