DLHgn Posted October 12, 2016 Report Share Posted October 12, 2016 I've been using AVG forever now but recently it's been giving me some issues and being overall just annoying (AVG ads keep popping up on task bar and what not constantly). If my computer restarts, AVG's watchdog service has trouble running or something like that and it freezes on boot. Went to their website and a lot of people were having the same issue and AVG just kept telling them to do the same thing over and over again even though though the people were saying repeatedly that they couldn't. Luckily mine was able to come back from the locked up boot screen seeing as most of the people having the same issue had to wipe their HDD clean. Long story short, I need to replace this crap software with something else that is reliable and free. Key word there is free. I know paying for a service will give you a better quality service (most of the time) but I do not have the money to pay for that seeing as I have just had to spend two of my paycheck's worth of money on one of my class projects.
