JumpinBean23
Looking into these for an upcoming build. Just wondering if they're worth the $350-400 price tag, or if I should go in a different direction. I have 6x9 front doors, and 3.5s in dash. Just doing a simple front stage replacement...hopefully. I haven't had much luck finding people running them, which could be a good or bad thing. Tweeter seems like a decent dash option to me, but I would hate to go on a hunch and instantly regret it. Also curious on how much power they like. The site I found didn't mention power handling. I'm guessing around 100w per side, but i could be way off. Will have a dsp, however I'm still looking into my options for that. If I'm missing any critical info ask away. Any info or guidance is appreciated. 06RTCharger
How about buying simple adaptors for ur doors? Those 6x9 to 6.5 adaptors. That way u open ur options. 6.5 mids seem to be the general favorite. For ur 3.5 u could find some good 3inch drivers that could get into those higher frequencies, so u wouldnt need a tweet nessisarily.
JumpinBean23
I haven't ruled that out. These were suggested to me as an option, so I thought I would at least look into them
bcbrassard
CDT is pricey equipment for what you get IMO. For the same cost you could get Focal, Morel, or Hertz coax sets. Depends on your goals and budget. Most here hate on the 6x9's so there is always the adapter plates to 6.5". 15 hours ago, JumpinBean23 said: Looking into these for an upcoming build. bcbrassard
Good options with the 3.5 dash locations to go with whatever you put in the doors.
JumpinBean23
I get that most people hate on the 6x9 option. I think I may look into some raw driver options. I'm just not sure I could spend that much on a 6x9 set with so many other options that could probably make me just as happy
bcbrassard
If you need more midbass in your system then the 6x9's can help with that but if you have a sub and need more midrange then 6.5's can fill the gap depending on what your plans are for the dash. bcbrassard
CDT ha$149 on amazon, that paired with some mids and tweeters in the dash might sound good. https://www.amazon.com/CL-69S-Slim-Audio-Carbon-Subwoofer/dp/B00X8F6DZ0/ref=sr_1_18?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1483641462&sr=1-18&keywords=6x9+woofer https://www.amazon.com/CL-69SUB-CDT-Audio-6x9-Subwoofers/dp/B00481W5KA/ref=sr_1_13?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1483641462&sr=1-13&keywords=6x9+woofer
Skullz
I would get the Hertz HCX690 before the CDT's, but you can get the 6x9 adapter and run any 6.5" speaker brand out there. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
WalledSonic
I have CDT mids and tweets and love em, although my set was $280 (for 4x 6.5s and 2x tweets). $400 seems pricey. CDT, as a company, is legit; but their prices are a bit high comparatively to other better brands. I would try something less expensive and then move up later if you arent happy.
