Swapping out subs, just got in an Fi SSD 15, dual 1 ohm, flatwind, internal lead

box built for the sub

My amp is Alpine mrx-m100 - 1000w @ 2ohms

wired it in series for 2 ohm load and barely has any sound coming out

Fi specs show it at 1250w RMS with standard copper coils.  will flatwind change it much?

what might be the issue/problem

Someone did that a while back and the polarity on their sub was marked wrong on one of the coils. You can check the coils one at a time with a 9 volt battery + to + and - to -. this should cause the cone to push out when connected.

Also check that your coils are in series like + of first coil to amp with - of first coil to second coil + and second coil - to amp.

What was your old sub? The fi could be a lot stiffer than the old sub. Flat wind sounds like an spl option meaning it is designed to take tons of power causing it to need tons of power. I have never ran a flat wind. Maybe someone who has will chime in.

I got it put back in, it works fine and GREAT, holy hell

so much better than the 2 RE srx15 dual 2ohms i had in a sealed box

I only deal with this type of stuff about every 5 years when i get tired of something or blow/fry something but my amp shows its tested at 1087@2ohms and the sub says 1250 so its not underpowered, in fact i may turn the amp down

what would everyone suggest for the other settings its got subsonic, LP filter, bass eq.  I just have every one of them turned to the left all the way. subsonic on 5, LP filter on 50, bass eq on 0

Glad it works now. Keep the bass eq at zero. The subsonic should be a half octave below port tuning to prevent the sub from unloading. I have my low pass around 150hz because I like all kinds of bass not just the lows.

an octave below 35 is half of 35. 35/2=17.5

a half octave below 35 is 35/4=8.75

I'd do 35 - 8 =27hz, that's where you want your subsonic set if you want it half an octave below. remember how octaves work for future use. octave up is double the frequency, octave below is half
