gmoxley1
Alright, so I got a questions about passive crossovers. Should I mount my passive crossovers near my amp and have a long run to the speakers or should it be the opposite and have the crossover near the speakers (as close as I can anyways)? Thanks! 1998 chevy blazer 4 door stock alt 105a Battery: Autocraft Gold 75-3 Big Three in Sky High Car Audio 4ga subs: rockford p2 12's (soon to be sundown SA 12's) Sundown SAZ-1200d on the subs Mids and Highs: Infinity kappa 6.5 mid in front doors and tweets in Dash sae 50.4 for mids and highs SMD OM-1 on the subs
xpoppadaddyx
Put mine close to the speakers, but I've seen it done the other way too. Guess it's preference. 2002 Chevy Trailblazer (Build) 2013 Nissan Altima (Build) Poppa's YouTube Channel Poppa's FB Page Poppa's Instagram
ShadeTreeMechanic
It depends on how much wire you want to use. I put mine up front in the kick panels. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
3vil
I'm with Shade on this. One long run from amp to the 2 passives, then 2-3 shorter runs to the components (depending on the set)
WalledSonic
In the end, it doesnt really matter. The only concern is cost of wire. In terms of wire resistance, if you size wire appropriately, measured DC resistance will be negligible between the two setups. gmoxley1
Awesome! Thanks for the responses everyone! I got plenty of speaker wire so I just have to decide to put them with my amp rack or hidden in the dash, which is where they are now but they are very sloppily placed haha.
