Also made some new leads for my DMM with some pieces from Parts Express and some extra 12 gauge speaker wire.  Crimped and then soldered

Also made a 20' long lead so I can check voltage drop anywhere in the car.

Top pic shows how the JYs come stock.

Bottom pic shows the cross linking bus (i dont know what you call it) to branch the cells together across the 3 banks.

Getting copper this week to get the new bars going.

AutoCad for the win lol

2D, baby.  We have some 3D stuff, but unless everything is 3D, you cant work in 3D.  So very antiquated!

I'm not very good in AutoCad. I use it for layout drawings for machines and layouts for plants but that's about it. I find 3d Cad like inventor, and solidworks, to have a more user friendly work space. Plus there are no hot keys that I know in AutoCad... I live on hot keys lol

Acad 2017 has hot keys, ive recently learned. We have like 100,000 files in 2D so we’ll be working partially in 2D for years to come.

Should have it installed at work by Wednesday. Our file server requires us to be up to date on softwares.

OM-1 install

For those wondering if you can take apart the OM-1 to fit the display in a standard 2-1/8" hole, the answer is no.  Also, Chimpo and Dancing Banana lol

The leads on the OM-1 are small so I decided to add some solder.  Cut some holes in these bullet connectors.  I may need to remove my dash in the future, so rather than cut leads I can just pull the connection apart.

Mods is life

39514361245_cc6e98276f_b.jpg

Also cut a huge hole on the back plate so the bullet connectors can slip thru

I really wish this thing fit into my cluster, but it doesnt. *sigh*.  So here it will reside.

OM-1 Install Part 2

Had to remove an amp so I can install the OM-1 lead onto a speaker connection.  My amps are mounted upside down so you cant reach the subleads easily.  You can see here how much pressure is on the neoprene foam after removing the amp

39700060984_b028471437_b.jpg

Here's the lead connections before

40366175792_dc1cdbc927_b.jpg

Heres the lead connections after

40366173202_172557e325_b.jpg

Now with the amp mounted, I can reach the lead screws in case I want to disconnect them.

40366171482_23ff00f990_b.jpg

Checking gains.  It was dead on 70.0V as I set it months ago.  Crazy how accurate all this equipment is.  The detents on OM-1 setting knob has the OM-1 going off around 68.4V, but the difference in the bass knob from 68.4V to 70.0V is literally a cunt hair, so thats what the OM-1 is set at.

39700052984_cdb53fe423_b.jpg

I fucking love this little magnet thing for the DMM.  Extremely convenient.

40366168382_bfbdbda504_b.jpg

And this right here is why you fuse wires.  I disconnected the ignition on wire in the dash but didnt tape it or remove the fuse.  Also, I must have started the car at some point along the way, popping the fuse.  People that are against fusing for power runs have more balls than common sense.  Fusing is for everyday idiots (like most of us) that make mistakes.  Lessons.

39700050544_850a497c5c_b.jpg

Much more on tap soon.  Some serious welding, new subs, blah blah blah.  Thanks for looking.
