I'll probably only push about 3000-4000 watts normally. Full power for 30 second burps.

Mr. Clapp
Plan is to run 2 18s on around 3000-4000 watts for daily with the ability to make 5000-8000 watt burp. If I can get away with an XS Power d3100 and a d1200 that's what id want to do. My 2600 watt amp and d1200 keeps the voltage above 11.8 at idle. If I need to upgrade the alt to suit my needs I'll do that but I'll need to rework my budget. I don't plan on keeping/using the system for more than a few months anyway. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you will NEVER see 5000-8000w on a burp. tboorn
id say honsetly right now your voltage may be fine, but you arent getting a full 2600 rms out of that amp, unless your wired below the recommended ohm load, youre rising well above where the ratings are for that amp. realistically your are at the very edge of what a stock alt and single battery are able to where your at now. If you are planning on running 5k RMS, potentially, a H/O alt is a must. i ran an M3b with my stock alt and 3 banks of caps and couldnt go full tilt for 10 seconds without having to rev my engine. even then i couldnt play for more than 20 seconds. and thats 3800RMS, and i clamped it with a AMM-1 Fidelity Built to Last Team Sound Asleep 24Runner Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/196657-24runner-sleeper-system-lots-of-fi-neo-dd-focal-new-video-w-juicebox-lithium/ 2 x 12" Fi BTL N2 / 2 x 12" Fi BTL N3 2 DD M3b Maxwell 2.7V 3000F Supercapacitors Pioneer DEH-80prs Focal P165 V30 components Rockford Fosgate T-400.

If you are wired to lowest manufacturer recommended load (1 ohm or 2 ohm depending on the version), unless you have zero rise (impossible with a subwoofer), you wont get that number. But yeah I see what you're saying about box rise, not really worried about it yet.
