Example Of Why Some Stereo Shops Suck

Recommended Posts

recently bought a 1999 cougar from my buddy, 2k bucks

came with 18 inch Ma audio sub, shitty boss audio amp, shitty capacitor, whatever it bumps pretty loud. I wanted the car, system came with it. anyways my point

18 inch sub in 3 cubic foot (or so) box built into spare tire area

Image025.jpg

it was rattling the bottom of the spare tire well mad hard, and something popped into my head, and i was right!

they didn't build a bottom to the box!

Image026.jpg

eventually this whole system will come out, especially the 4gauge power wire, and shitty sealed "box"

Thats custom!

Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

i give a e for effort, they could have made it better by puting a deadner on the bare metal then it would be fine, its all about the air space. as long as it was air tight then i see no harm

that's a stereo shop in southern california for ya, it actually hits pretty hard sealed the way it is, i'm going to tear it out though, try to put a new btl 18 ported back there, on a rf amp, but funds are gay

I know someone else on the site who has the floor board for the bottom of the box :) I wont say his screen name but his real name is John!

Yup, I'm guilty. I hate to admit it on here...that foam does work really well for sealing, although, I'd be pissed if I paid to have something built and that's what I got. Having said that, I'll be rebuilding it all the right way in a few months and hopefully bump my 152+ up a bit.

Bash away.
