Decaf Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 nonononononono not even close well they were both made by the same person the mt is much stiffer and would be much more comfortable tuned to 45 and up whereas the btl is notorious for being geared more towards insane daily driving everyone has their own opinion and ive seen alot of mt setups that are tuned low and they are fine, but they shine at 50-60hz id rather have a btl and i think steve got better #'s and sound quality from the direct swap of 18" mts to btls

David Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 The RE MT has a tighter coil gap, smaller coil and no-pole venting, along with some other small differences, I would guess the motor on the MT is not as strong as the BTL. tinsels are different as well.
pimpedout97x Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 i like my MTs. my boy (robin, iamamp3pimp on CA.com) has his dodge neon walled with 2 18 mts, with 2 20.1's strapped at like 1 ohm or .7 ohm i think, and he's pulling 149.9's in bassrace on the TL. thats pretty damn good for 2 subs and that power IMO he's also tuned at 31 hz.
