m & m godfathers. lol. i actually have a question. back in the day, what meter did they use and how do you think some of those cars compared to todays cars differ? what i'm getting at, is a 140 back then the same 140 now. or was it harder to get a higher score then?

you can add 10 or more DB to scores now to equal the ones back then. Well i guess it wasnt so much the scores being higher, but they werent very consistant IMO. I could do a 146 one day and a 141 the next without changing anything. Then go to some jackasses show and he cranks the "gain" on the AC mic and everyone is doin high 150's and even 160's. Once i started gettin in the '50 club and pretty consistant, the new TL sensor came out and i think everyone lost 6-8db or more. That was heartbreaking but At least its a lot more consistant from mic to mic now though.....

The TL is a better mic to judge everyone across the board, but I wouldn't mind rollin up on an old AC mic and smashing on it for awhile

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

my first real system was

Clarion head unit

Clarion Eq w/100watt amp built in (bad mamajamma)

Sherwood 180 on my subs

Linear 652 on my mids

and I used the eq for my tweets

the speakers were 4" punch in the dash

1" jbl tweeters on the a pillar

and 2 Fockford fosgate Series 1 10" subs.

and this truck rocked, my buddy had 2 12" cobalt orions and a cobalt 2100 amp and my 10"s were louder.

this was back in 1992, 1993

LOL you guys are bringing back some memories. The old mic with the tripod. I remember the judge had to carry sand bags to keep the mic weighed down. LOL
