4 12's in Malibu insight?

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't.

Only way you could do it is firing straight up into the trunk lid/ rear deck.

Probably sound like shit and at the very least its gonna vibrate like a motherfucker.

Better off going two twelves facing forward through the cutout where the rear seats fold down and seal off the trunk from the cabin.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

THIS^^

instead of 4 just get 2 better ones, seal off, etc.  it will be PLENTY loud IMO.  There are a lot of trunk builds, glance around the forums for a few days to get some ideas.  Good luck and please post pics of your build.

Unless you wall it off for 4 12's i think 2 from a trunk build on good power will perform well.

I got my wifes 2012 Malibu when she bought a 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailmaster and i have 1 T1 12" D4 on 1K and it sounds damn good.

P500-4, P200-2 & a 1999 power a1000.

Joe X design. RF T1692 in rear deck. RF T36.5" in front doors with P1 tweeters in a-pillers. I am making up new A-pillers for a 4" comp set of Focals this winter.

This box and sub sound real nice. Gets pretty loud, my Lancer has 2 10's firing into the cabin on 2K so the Malibu is my SQ build.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide and as always make a build log.

I can't watch the video on my work computer but yea wasn't that like vented into the cabin and such?!  That's like......yes, THAT would work too, and your friend has good taste.  hehe

That is a nice build if it's the one I'm thinking of.  I think we assumed you were going to just squeeze them to have 4 12's and were picturing a simple ported box firing at the trunk hatch....
