Best 10 inch subwoofer for the money?

Recommended Posts

Im pretty new to car audio but Im getting addicted to bass. Im looking for a new subwoofer to replace my jbl stadium 1024. I have it paired with a polk audio d2000.2 running 500w at 4 ohms bridged. I had a rockford p3 and upgraded to a jbl stadium 1024 but I still want more bass. I can’t go over a 10 inch woofer because I need the space in my trunk. Are there any subs preferably around $200 that would give me better SPL? im looking at a dayton audio ultimax 10 right now but wanted more opinions.

Would I be losing anything if i under power it? My amp is only 500 w rms and the subs being recommended are 600-750 watts

No, there is nothing wrong with under powering a sub.

Keep in in mind though that going from one 10” sub to a different 10” sub on the same power probably isn’t going to gain you a whole lot unless there was really something wrong with your current sub.

My son just bought a pair of the Brutal Sounds 10” drivers with their 2k amplifier. Hopefully able to give a review soon.
