pervitizm
What are you guys running for front stage? I've been told that I have to run a 3 way active system and that I must spend at least $2-3k on speakers in order to keep up with my 18's. Is this true? I would like to hear what some of you guys are running just to get some type of idea on what I need to do. Thanks! pervitizm
I had a guy over on soundsoulution telling me that I had to run a 3 way active system and that I needed to spend all this money on a front stage in order to keep up with my 18s. Hell all I want is some replacements for my door that will sound good while the 18's go at it. I know once I turn the Bass knob all that will be heard is Bass. I'm content with that. I just can't believe that I need to $2k components or a 3 way active system to achieve this. I do however think that one set of 2 ways in the doors aren't going to be loud enough to keep up with monster bass in the rear. weather you run a 3 way made up of this and that of doing a few sets of components is up to you. pervitizm
Okay so I took some measurements today just to see how much space I have to work with. The idea is to keep my third row seats. That was the main reason why I brought a suburban instead of a tahoe. So far this is what I've came up with. *Note all measurements are external* Height: 23 3/8 inches or 28 1/2 inches if I go up to top of headrest Width: 49 inches Depth: 28 3/4 inches I went to 12volt.com to use their volume calculator and it came out to roughly 15 cft of internal volume space. I want to go ported with the 18's and I want to go both subs and ports facing up as apposed to subs up and ports to the rear. You guys think this is do-able with the measurements I've posted? REVOK1NER
You definitely have enough room. I don't think you need 15 cubes for those 2 18's talk to Rusty about the box, my box is 9 cubes tuned to 42 hz(My cabin peaks at 46) and as far as a front stage I have some Infinitys I picke dup off of ebay for cheap and they sound good.
