Considering trading my CAB-45 for a Taramps smart 5k. Just looking at specs and the smart is rated 5k at 1 and 2 ohm and drops to 2900 at 4 ohm. The CAB-45 is rated 2750 at 2 ohm. Seems with rise I'd get significantly more power from the smart. Thoughts?

Basically, it's just half bridge vs full bridge. Which do you prefer? Both have their pros and cons.

From what I've seen, those smart 5's pack a punch!

But those cab amps are legit as well, and a lot of people prefer the half bridge mono blocks.

As far as output goes, I doubt you'll really hear a difference to be honest.

Honestly with them costing about the same my thought was I could increase about 2k rms without paying a dime. Assuming I rise to 2 ohm I could potentially see 5000 vs 2750. I guess part of this is just me wanting more but having my car audio budget tapped out.

The smart 5k puts out 6 k at 2 ohms on a dyno test.

Yeah I saw that. The CAB-45 dyno was 3k at 2 ohm. So if I'm rising to 2 ohm I would literally double my power with the Smart 5.
