I usually just tell the truth. "Four 12's" "how many amps?" "Just one for the subs, one for the mids. 2 total". Usually ends up in a "yea I do intalls in the summer time hit me up then if u need a setup built" If it's "in traffic" ....If I don't do the "I CAN'T HEAR YOU" mime routine, I'll say the same as above. No need to play games & they usually give me the thumbs up or a "that sh*t is pounding/moving my mirrors/shakin my car, etc" I'm sure you all hear the same kinda stuff. I got cussed out by an old guy in a Taurus the other day and I was doin around 140db on my epic-160...he started yellin at me so i put it up to 147db and he just about flipped out..almost rolled into the car in front of him @ the light...he tried to "get away" but i just rolled next to him for a bit,smiled at him & sped off, put it back to 140db and cruised home smiling. I don't kno what he thought he'd accomplish by yelling "you f*#ing idiot....blah blah blah" drowned out cuz i wasn't trying to hear that. Like most folks, I only REALLY crank it when I'm tryin to drown out some A-hole on a mission or a douche that's "mean muggin" w/ his stocks blaring @ 100% distortion. truckramrod Posted December 8, 2006 Report Share Posted December 8, 2006 When I was driving my Sonoma, I'd respond with the truth which was 2 10s or 1 12. If you build the right box, you don't need lots of power or big subs to slam! I had 2 RE10s on 400 wrms, then I switched them out for a 12w7 with 500 wrms. Both were ported, and I always got the thumbs up sign from people and also compliments/questions. Now with my nissan, I get dirty looks and eye rolls. I guess 2 ported audiobahn 12s on 900 watts rms is loud but doesn't sound all that great when its trying to flex the trunk lid. iceman88 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Share Posted December 14, 2006 man your lucky they only swearing at you. here in London i dont see no one who likes bass only maybe once in a while. i only usally turn it up when the jackass next to me has got it up and i want to drown him out at the lights. this happen twice where on both occasions it was WOMEN, at the lights the car in front of me, i saw the door open she came up towards me and she said in a very rude manner, Can you turn that crap down so only you can hear it, as she was old and i had maners i respected her and turned it down. i think she was about 50 ish any ways same secenario and this time it was like a 30 year old woman got out her car at the lights walking towards me saying "are you fucking deaf" i can read her lips but cant hear her, she came right up to the window, i turned it down a little bit, she goes my car is shaking turn that shit off, i said ohhh ok, as she walked off i turn it on full! lmao you had to see her face expression i'm sure she would of come back but the lights were just turning green, and she tried doing a burnout to pull away and show her fustration but failed lol btw sorry to jump in, yea when they ask to see it and im playing it mine cover is now usally off becasue the subs hit against it and they can see all, but before i used to say, i cant open the boot cos i cut the wire that goes to it so thiefs cant open it even if they break the windows, its gonna be really hard to take it off as i've bolted it down to the chasis with huge nuts and screws. lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
