Which way should/would get louder?

Recommended Posts

I have a 83 Cutlass and i was gonna do 2 12" MTs ported facing the rear but, now im thinking about 2 15" MTs ported facing the back seat? ??? Which way should/would get louder?  P.S. i dont have foldable rear seats but my rear deck has a couple vents to let the bass into the cabin ;D

In a trunk, firing the woofer and port to the rear has been the loudest and best sounding for me.  You could probably get louder if you took the rear seat cushion out and actually sealed the box from the trunk, but I'm always a fan of stealth, so I say just run a lot of power to the MTs and fire them to the back and put a lot of sound deadening in the trunk.

hes right^^^ aiming forward will work but to get the maximum benefit from it you would need to isolate the cabin/baffle board from the trunk.  Im not sure you can fit 2 15's in a bandpass but that would be another option.  Bandpass it and port up thru the rear deck would really pound (if done right) and keep the tailights from rattling all to hell.
